Browser Automation permissions

To enable Lazy to capture the URL of webpages you take notes on, you’ll need to enable Lazy’s automation access to your browser.

You’ll need to choose ‘Allow’ in order for Lazy to be able to capture content from your browser successfully. If you instead accidentally chose ‘Don’t Allow’, please scroll down to ‘Automation Permissions’ for guidance on how to re-enable it.

Browser - Javascript from Apple Events permissions

In order to enable Lazy to enrich your captures with additional context you’ll need to enable the permission ‘Allow Javascript from Apple Events’. Please find guides on how to do for your browser, below:

When using  Hotkeys in Lazy​ for the first time on top of an app, you’ll receive a system prompt encouraging you to enable Lazy to ‘control’ this app. Make sure to select ‘Allow’ so that Lazy can function correctly on top of the app you’re looking at.

Can Lazy capture from this app or website?

Lazy enables text capture across all of your Mac using 

. Lazy’s advanced capture feature enables you to clip content and gather crucial context/metadata, but this requires specific support for certain Mac apps.

Lazy supports capturing from most browsers, and a growing number of Mac apps with full clipping and context capturing. You can find the entire list here —

Lazy AI uses GPT-4O. This is combined with Lazy’s powerful capturing, to enable you to quickly prompt GPT-4O about articles, tweets, youtube videos, emails, PDFs and other content across your Mac.

Where can I find the iOS and Web App versions of Lazy?

How can I sync my Kindle highlights and notes to Lazy?

You can sync your Kindle highlights and notes to Lazy from your settings. Simply navigate to your settings in Lazy (⌘ + Comma) and then sign in with your Kindle account. By default, Lazy will sync all of your books with highlights and notes on them. Learn more about Kindle syncing here —

How can I share my notes with other people?

In Lazy there’s a couple different ways that you can share your notes. While looking at a note, simply click 

 and you’ll be able to share a note as a URL with others, with all of your nested cards also being shared, allow you to turn your note into a static website. Learn more about sharing Public cards, here — 

Additionally, you can choose to export your card as PDF, by simply doing ⌘+K and then ‘Export Card as PDF’.

How can I import/export data to/from Lazy?

You can import and export your data from Lazy in your settings.

Simply navigate to your settings (by clicking ⌘ + Comma) and then navigate to your Data tab. There you can import your notes as Markdown or HTML files. You can also choose to export your notes as Markdown.

Currently imports are limited to a maximum of 2MB for an entire import and maximum 100KB per card.

We’re continuing to improve the importing in Lazy to make unifying your data in Lazy even easier.

Where can I find privacy and security information about Lazy?

Why does Lazy use background resources while it’s idle?

In order for Lazy to sync your data, Lazy need to use some CPU and Memory resources while idle.

It may use more resources in the background if you recently performed an import, as Lazy is both importing that data and syncing it with your cloud database.

The team are working on improvements to the performance of Lazy’s syncing, which we’re excited to share soon.
